The typical gaysian usually has a huge affection for J-Pop queen Utada Hikaru. As a gaysian, you may not speak Japanese nor do you listen to a lot of J-Pop music, but chances are at one point or another you have heard Utada’s “First Love” single playing somewhere. Why is it that Utada’s music appeal so much to gaysians? Probably because, like Madonna, Utada’s style is constantly changing and she is always singing about some sort of heartbreak- a subject matter that seems all too common in the gay world.
Currently (As of 2008) Utada Hikaru has released 4 CDs as follows:
- First Love
Notable singles: Automatic, First Love, Time Will Tell - Distance
Notable singles: Wait and See, Distance, Addicted to You, Time Limit, For You - Deep River
Notable singles: Sakura Drops, Letters, Traveling - Ultra Blue
Notable singles: This is Love, Keep Tryin’, Colors, Be My Last - Heart Station
Notable singles: The Flavor of Life
Definitely give her music a try! (You can easily find her music streaming on Imeem or Youtube) You’ll see why she is one of the favorite musical acts amongst gaysians.
